Gianluca has 20 years of experience in humanitarian and development contexts with particular reference to Southern Africa and South East Asia where he worked and lived in various countries. Since 2015 he has been working in the humanitarian sector of Save the Children with a focus on crisis areas of importance for the organization and on the inclusion of policies and operational approaches of the contemporary humanitarian sector. In particular, in recent years he has concentrated his expertise on surge capacity, approaches to crisis prevention, localization and the link between Humanitarian-Development and Peace. In this regard, he participates in the DGCS working table for the definition of guidelines for the application of the Nesso for Italian cooperation

Emanuele Giordana, he is the editorial director of the atlanteguerre.it site and president of the “Afghan” association. He was a lecturer in Indonesian culture and teaches at the Basso Foundation School of Journalism in Rome and at Ispi in Milan. Co-founder of the "Lettera22" journalistic association, former director of "Ecoradio" (2011) and "Terra" (2012), he wrote, among other things, "The Indonesian bet" (with G. Corradi 2002) "Afghanistan" (2007) “Diary from Kabul” (2010) “Journey to Eden” (2017) and edited "The Great Illusion" (2019) on the war in Afghanistan. Born in Patras, Greece, in 1963, he is the General Manager of INTERSOS, after having been Secretary General since 2016. Graduated in Electrical Engineering, he has been working in the humanitarian field since 1995. He has worked as a logistician and head of mission in numerous countries in Africa, Asia and South America. From 2007 to 2013 he was the General Manager of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Italy.

He was vice president of ARCI from 2014 to 2018 and from 2016 to 2020 president of ARCS, the ARCI NGO that deals with international cooperation and solidarity. He currently works in Rome as immigration officer of ARCI and is president of the Officine Solidali Consortium, the first ARCI consortium made up of the main entities that deal with the reception of asylum seekers and refugees.
